Spanish Institute of Oceanography
IEO
The IEO’s research extends to marine resources in general, to problems related to oceanography and pollution of the marine environment, and to crops. In this sense, the Institute tries to guide its research in such a way that its results support the advisory function, and to give concrete answers to the Public Administration with reference to the sea, its rational use and its protection. Due to its nature as a state competition body, the IEO represents the Spanish Government before international oceanographic organizations and commissions.

The ERA-NET Consortium AXIS (Assessment of Cross(X) - sectoral climate Impacts and pathways for Sustainable transformation) aims to promote cross-boundary, cross-community research with the overall goal to improve coherence, integration and robustness of climate impact research and connect it to societal needs. To this effect, AXIS aims to overcome boundaries between science communities through inter- or transdisciplinary research projects.
