Think2030 Dialogue Spain – Council Presidency Dialogue for Sustainability

The much-anticipated Think2030 Dialogue – Spain is all set to take center stage on November 16, 2023, in Madrid, Spain. As a joint effort by the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), and Elcano Institute, this event is bringing together decision-makers, policy analysts, and industry experts from Spain and across Europe. The Think2030 Dialogue – Spain will present an opportunity to convene high-profile stakeholders. As we stand six months before the European Elections, it’s a prime moment to assess European sustainability policies.
The event will host three Science4Policy sessions: covering the EU’s role in the net-zero transition geopolitics, the Spanish experience on just transition in Europe, and the crucial link between science and policymaking. JPI Climate has been invited to convene the last session focused on science and policymaking. Moderated by Frank McGovern, JPI Climate Vice Chair for the Equinox Process, confirmed speakers for this session are Myles Allen, Director Oxford Martin Programme on Post Carbon Transition, Samantha Burgess, Deputy Director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), Etienne Hannon, Head of Science-Policy at Belgium Climate Center (BCC), Nadia Pinardi, Co-Chair of the European Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise, Elena Lopéz Gunn, Member of the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change (ESABCC) and Martijn Pakker, Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP).
The Think2030 Dialogue – Spain serves as a stepping-stone towards the Equinox Summit II, scheduled for March 2024 in Brussels, Belgium, a milestone event of JPI Climate with the support of MAGICA to accelerate the provision to inform evidence-based decision making.
Stay tuned for the registration link and a comprehensive agenda, to be shared soon on the IEEP website.
