Climate Services for Risk Reduction in Africa (CS4RRA) Call Closes with Proposals from 41 Countries

The Call on Climate Services for Risk Reduction in Africa (CS4RRA) which closed for pre-proposal submissions on 11 September 2025 attracted strong international participation – submissions have been received from 41 countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Morocco, Kenya, Cameroon, and Burkina Faso, among others.

Proposals have been received in order of popularity on:

  • Topic 2: Improving Operational Assessment and Prevention of Climate Security Risks : 120 proposals
  • Topic 1: Improving Early Warning Systems : 114 proposals
  • Topic 3: Improving Financing Mechanisms and Institutional Integration of Climate Services : 62 proposals

The most frequently used keywords across proposals included climate adaptation, agriculture, climate risk assessment, artificial intelligence, citizen science, and community empowerment.

The eligibility and evaluation of pre-proposals will take place between September and November 2025.
