Climate & Cultural Heritage CRA Kick-off: Collaborative Research to Address Urgent Challenges

The Kick-Off Meeting for the projects funded as part of the Climate & Cultural Heritage Collaborative Research Action CRA (CCH 2023) will take place during the Belmont Forum SRI Congress | Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress, in Helsinki on 10-14 June 2024.

This Call is jointly organised between the Joint Programming Initiatives Cultural Heritage and Global Change (JPI CH) and Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe (JPI Climate) and the Belmont Forum. The Call aims to support transdisciplinary and convergent research approaches on cultural heritage and climate change, to foster collaboration among the research community across several regions, and to contribute to knowledge advances and policy change at the global level.

This kick-off event will be a locus for the transdisciplinary international teams of researchers and stakeholders involved. The breadth of the sixteen project’s foci reflects the complex challenges at the interface of cultural heritage and climate change and the numerous fields involved. To encourage transdisciplinary discussions, the debates will be organised around four thematic sessions : Sensory Heritage; Nature-Culture Relations; Local and Indigenous Communities and their Knowledge; Innovative Methodologies, Technologies and Infrastructures. Researchers and stakeholders will then have the opportunity to discuss these topics, based on the scientific issues raised by their own projects.
