Science for Action Evening at COP30, German Pavilion

Reliable scientific information on climate change is essential for effective climate policy. The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) supports national and international climate research and promotes the exchange of knowledge between science and practice. Through its Science for Action Evening format, held in the German Pavilion at COP30, the Ministry provides a platform to present current scientific work on key climate topics.

The 2025 event, under the title “International cooperation in climate change research: building data, trust, and momentum for change,” will focus on examples of international cooperation such as the Amazon Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO), WASCAL and SASSCAL, and the JPI Climate work on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC).

The event will highlight different cooperation formats, their benefits and challenges, and offer space for discussion on how to strengthen inclusive and effective collaboration in climate research.
