JPI Oceans Strategic Navigation Forum

The forum emerges in response to the evolving needs of marine and maritime R&I priorities, stepping beyond the confines of the current JPI Oceans’ Strategy Framework and the European Union’s Horizon Europe program. It represents a unique opportunity for stakeholders across the European marine and maritime ecosystem to collaborate, envision, and shape the future trajectory of research and innovation in this vital sector. All involved in science-policy, research funding, academia, industry, and civil society are welcome to contribute their insights and expertise towards a sustainable and prosperous future.

Objective and Vision

  • Foster reflective exchange of national and European marine and maritime priorities post-2025.

The forum will feature:

  • A plenary session with keynote addresses by esteemed leaders from JPI Oceans member countries, the European Commission, and other key stakeholders.
  • Expert-led discussion panels focusing on the anticipated challenges and opportunities in marine & maritime research and innovation for the latter half of this decade
