FERS Summer School: Carbon Dioxide Removal for a Net-Zero Future

Event

From 3–13 June 2025, 20 participants will gather in Bertinoro, Italy, for an in-depth course on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). The programme will explore CDR technologies, their role in reaching climate targets, and the surrounding legal and governance challenges — preparing participants to contribute to informed decision-making for a net-zero future.

This course is designed to address key questions that are essential for understanding the topic:

  1. Overview of climate overshoot and the need for negative emissions
  2. Introduction to CDR options and technologies
  3. Scaling up CDR
  4. Public perception and CDR governance

The summer school is organized under the auspices of the Equinox Process
