The 5th Meeting of the Transdisciplinary Advisory Board (TAB) was held as a conference call on 13 October 2020 and included a summary on the main outcomes of the last TAB meeting, status report of the TAB recommendations to the JPI Climate Governing Board (GB) and the summary of JPI Climate’s recent activities.
The GB welcomed the active engagement of the TAB with JPI Climate activities and looks forward to continue working with the TAB members. It welcomed the proposal to advice on future activities for the JPI Climate Action Group (AG) "Enabling Societal Transformation in the Face of Climate Change" in the activities related to the SOLSTICE call, which is almost finalised and to discuss what concrete future activities can be suggested for this AG, in particular in connection with Horizon Europe and the Missions.
The TAB advised on the prioritisation of topics in the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2021-2022, Cluster 5 “Climate, Energy and Mobility” and also on a potential Knowledge Hub on regional storyline and scenario development. It was discussed if there are additional activities that should be covered by JPI Climate considering current and emerging issues, including the European Green Deal and the Horizon Europe Missions.
A new topic was proposed to be explored in depth by the TAB: Successful knowledge transfer between scientists and practitioners, policy-makers and consider how these activities can provide added value to the current landscape on the respective research fields.
