Assessing local impacts of sea-level rise at the shore for mitigation and adaptation

On March 18 & 19, 2019, JPI Climate Action Group Next Generation of Climate Sciences in Europe & JPI Oceans with the support of SINCERE, Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI), Deltares Netherlands, and CNRM Météo-France jointly organised a scoping workshop on “Assessing local impacts of sea-level rise at the shore for mitigation and adaptation”.

This joint workshop was an approach to better assess the situation of sea-level rise research and collect needed information by a diverse set of parties. An inventory of sea-level rise initiatives, national strategies and best practices was discussed and presented. The outcome of this scoping workshop is the preparation of a sea level rise knowledge hub Terms of Reference (TOR) to inform the decision on its final implementation by the 17th JPI Climate Governing Board Meeting in May 2019.
