JPI Climate two major projects AXIS and SINCERE have started

This year the JPI Climate has started to implement two major projects AXIS (Assessment of Cross(X)-sectoral climate Impacts and pathways for Sustainable transformation) and SINCERE (Strengthening INternational Cooperation on climatE change REsearch). The first activities are carried out and the Kick off meeting for AXIS partners will be held in Brussels on 13 of February. The SINCERE project partners have been invited to the Kick off meeting in Bologna on 7-8 of March.

The ERA-NET AXIS is a network of 11 funding organisations from 10 European countries that was created to promote cross-boundary, cross-community research with the overall goal to improve coherence, integration and robustness of climate impact research and connect it to societal needs. To this effect, AXIS aims to bring together internationally expertise in the areas of this Call for Proposals and work on overcoming boundaries between science communities through inter- or transdisciplinary research projects.

The SINCERE aims to widen international research cooperation activities on climate adaptation and mitigation building on and further developing ongoing efforts and obtained results in the Joint Programming Initiative "Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe". SINCERE is built on partnership and collaboration with 20 project partners from 17 countries.
